Economic situation in Chile (March, 2023)

According to the regular report of economy (March 2023) published by The Embassy of Japan in Chile (department of Economy), the latest economic situation in Chile can be summarized as below.:

The economic activity index for February recorded -0.5%. In the mining section recorded 0.1%.
The mining production index for the same month was 1.7%, and copper production decreased by 3.7%.

The export amount in March was 9.76 billion dollars (13.1%), of which mining products raised 5.88 billion dollars (21.9%, 60.3% of the total), of which copper raised 4.58 billion dollars (9.8%, 77.9% of the total mining export value).
On the other hand, import value in the same month was $6.86 billion (-17.3%), and the trade balance was a surplus of $2.91 billion.

The amount of trade with China, Japan, and South Korea (February) resulted as below:

With China: exportation 3.03 billion (7.5%), importation 1.45 billion (-33.1%), total amount of trade 4.48 billion (-10.2%)
With Japan: exportation 780 million (63.6%), importation 150 million (37.3%), total amount of trade 930 million (58.6%)
With South Korea: exportation 480 million (-15.7%), importation 170 million (24.4%), total amount of trade 640 million (-8.1%)
